Flew Qantas from Sydney to Auckland after My Cathay Pacific flights from Johannesburg - Hong Kong - Sydney. I have flown with them in the past on a visit to South Africa from NZ. Maintenance issues caused the 2+ hour delay in Sydney and I found crew to be very rude! However this time I flew with Cathay Pacific and Qantas(between syd and akl). Flights with Cathay were perfect! A long layover in Hong Kong not a problem either. Well after all that Qantas ruined the whole trip! We all boarded about to closed doors when we were told there would be a 'short' delay. 30 min later Captain says 'Problem bigger than we thought, we are waiting for another plane to land so we can get a part off that one to replace ours'! That set the mood for me. and so another 30 min later on a hot plane we were told we will be deboarding and put on another flight 4 hours later. on the plane we were given no water and it was VERY hot! it doesnt end there, we were given a $10 food coupon at sydney(woopdey doo!) after eventually getting on the flight, service was as experienced my last time. Crew was extra rude (tired from the delay i guess) After arriving in AKL my bags were broken (the handle and a tear in the side) and I had a fragile sticker put on when i checked in at sydney. I also had a domestic connection in NZ and due to the delay i missed this. Qantas could do nothing about it, but AirNZ were nice enough to put me on another flight free of charge after I explained to them Qantas are a bunch of inconsiderate !@#%! I can understand a weather delay and its all well to say at least they didnt take off with the problem, but the least they can do is fix the planes BEFORE putting people on them! So after my experiences with Qantas, and their recent incedents, its not good enough for such a reputable airline and for the cost of thier flights I will NEVER fly with Qantas again!
