DesignCAD has been through several owners since I first started using it when Micrsoft DOS was THE software operating system. DesignCAD has grown a lot under Windows string of OSs. I think it would be a good deal except that now that the present owner, IMSI, has almost stopped development and software fixes. I am up to version 18 and will not go for the latest version (20) due to lack of support by IMSI. My version 18 has a lot of bugs especially in dimensioning. Also, I find the 3D software part of DesignCAD to be so hard to use that I have stopped all 3D work in DesignCAD. I would think one would be better off trying products that are younger and have a long life expectancy. Software does wear out you know. Too many patches stack up and the younger software folks in a software development company do not have any history with the old programs. And why would they want to go back in time to fixup old stuff anyway. Out with the old. In with the new. And that goes for AUTOCAD too.
