Am writing a review because last straw was after waiting 4 weeks for a mortgage renewal appointment was asked to cancel the day before. Frontline staff in branch always very polite and helpful, but actual advisors have consistently made mistakes, cancelled at the last minute, and most products more expensive than other banks. Eg following incidents
1) Changed buildings insurance to landlords insurance - had to phone up afterwards because several details wrong. Despite me reminding several times, they still did not cancel original insurance and had to go back into branch to sort it out.
2) When trying to set up a mortgage appointment had it cancelled twice, when finally had appointment the only rate they could offer was approx 1.4% higher than every other offer I had from other banks.
3) I have a buy to let mortgage coming to an end and received a phone call from Halifax advising me to make an appointment. Made an appointment but only available Saturday was 4 weeks later. Phone call day before appointment from advisor who wanted to know why I was coming in, and who advised me to cancel as I could do it over the phone! I cancelled and will now be looking around to try and renew it with someone else.
