Going with someone else after 1 year with Fasthosts. FTP was insanely slow (40kb/s max), poor customer service including robots trying to take your account number, much downtime including a random database outage where they didn't seem to know what was happening.



The kicker came when I tried to cancel the package at the end of the term. I called them up with ~1 month left on the contract and said please cancel it at the end of the contract (since I've paid for this month). They said OK, and apparently should have instructed me to take backups, but did not - then cancelled the package the next day! And what do you know, they only keep backups for 1 night, so my site was gone completely. I was promised a callback from a manager about this but never got it.



Avoid unless you can't afford anything better.
