“We have had our 3 cats insured with DL for a while now...”

We have had our 3 cats insured with DL for a while now and recently our oldest cat developed a very rare condition (a form of cancer that the specialist doesn't know very much about) on her leg. We took her to our vet and told them any treatment would need to be an insurance claim as we are pretty well bankrupt and cannot afford it. We took the forms in and they dealt with DL directly. We got the go ahead from DL so when the vet said she needed specialist treatment from the hospital, naturally we had to go for it. We initially had to pay up front and then claim back so I borrowed money from family to pay it £450!!!!!! and this was only a start. Our own vet bill we thought had already been paid. The cheque never arrived and when we rang them they said there was a discrepancy with her age and they would not now pay out unless we can provide proof of the day she was born!!! I have never ever heard of a cat that comes with a 'Birth Certificate'!!! Sadly I have had to stop her treatment and we just have to wait and see how she gets on, if she needs amputation I will have to have her put to sleep which makes me very angry and terribly upset. I love her to pieces and don't want her to suffer! Thanks for nothing DL.
