I am trying to get a refund on a booking I made at York Minster where I was unable to use the room despite booking through booking.com as I was assaulted and beaten up and robbed, and ended up in Northwick Park Hospital with fractures of my face. My friend phoned the hotel to cancel and explain also my daughter phoned the hotel but was told that as it was through booking.com I had to contact you to get a refund. Please let me know what else I can do in these unusual circumstances as I need to know what your policy is in the circumstances.
