“When we removed the Daisy 880 from the package the...”

When we removed the Daisy 880 from the package the right rear screw was loose and no amount of tightening would snug it up. Upon removing the screw we found that the hole it went into was stripped, leaving the stock loose. I installed a round-head screw that was slightly larger than the factory screw, snugged it up and all was well.

Accuracy with the standard sights was impressive. A friend, a very experienced airgunner, put the first two pellets directly into the bull's eye at 70 feet. The scope that came with it was another matter, though. After installing it we found the point of impact to be about 8" off the target--and no amount of adjusting would bring it in. As I have read in other reviews of this airgun Daisy ought to just leave it out of the package and charge less for the rifle. Mine was purchased at Wal-Mart for $45 and if it sold for $35/40 without the scope I believe it would be a better deal--and let the owner decide and buy whatever scope they wanted.

We only have around 50 rounds through it and only time will tell how it holds up but to get a rifled barrel for under $50 (the big improvement over the Crosman Pumpmaster 760) is a great deal.
