I absolutely agree with the guest commentator. I bought from GEms Tv for some years, until they were taken over last year, and then had to send loads of stuff back, broken/chipped/mismatched stones, and earrings with bent posts, etc about 10 pairs in all in different orders. I was disappointed, but then my husband remarked that he thought the new company was dealing in 'seconds'.

Husband was probably right! The things I bought back in 2007 were far superior, by 2010 everything was tacky, thin gold, chipped stones, items sent OUT with stones missing, absolutely no Quality Control.
I think they tried to ignore the rise in gold prices, so "ironed it" until it was paper thin. Watch it for a laugh sometimes now, and the latest thing is layered gold, in the old days it was simply gold plated, that is what the well known high street jewellers called it. Trouble with that is, it has no re-sale value, and no decent jeweller would set good stones in plate. The rule used to be, semi precious could be set in silver but diamonds, rubies etc had to be set in white or yellow gold - without air bubbles!!!
