Have a constant hissing and crackling on my telephone line. I have had numerous phone calls to customer service in India. They have run numerous tests on my line and everytime tell me their is no fault. I have no broadband connection and basically cannot use the phone either. They have agreed to credit my account for both services for the month that I have had no service. I was sent a new router after speaking with an engineer who ran tests. I was only allowed this if I entered into another 12 months contract. So with no other option I did. I had an engineer visit at 7.15am in the morning who then told me that my new router was faulty and then logged a fault with the phone line with customer service in India. I had a connection for about an hour or two when the engineer logged into the test page connecting to my new router. Now the interference on my phone line is twice as bad as it ever was! After another call back from them today to tell me for the umteenth time, they is not fault on the line - I totally lost it and told them to fix it within the next 48 hours or I will cancel. Her reply was you are not paying for the service until it is fixed so you don't have to cancel. I told her Pipex has a bad reputation and you are upholding that but not fixing my broadband problem. Clearly there is a fault which needs fixing! Totally exasperated by this whole thing!! Its now been a month and half without broadband and unable to use my phone line. Oh but on the upside I have a wireless connection....great if you have a laptop - which I don't!!! Seriously thinking of cancelling but not sure if this will sort out my hissing and crackling and broadband issue??
