Any possible good points are overwhelmed by the nightmare of dealing with this company.

Techtronics doesn't care about its customers, is quite happy to take your money and then ignore any problems.


General Comments

Summary - faulty goods delivered, took two months before they were collected and a further two months later (and counting) I don't have the goods and they still have my money.

Ordered a Sony DAV800 at the end of November. I was impressed by customer reviews on their website, and the fact that NASA had allegedly used their technology. The unit was promptly delivered a few days later. It was faulty, it had problems playing CD's and a constant hiss from the centre and rear speakers in stereo mode. It took _two months_ of phone calls and e-mails before I got a response.

They collected the unit for replacement. Then someone called talking about a repair, saying they were waiting for a part. Another two months passed, and after I got Trading Standards, my credit card company and BBC Watchdog involved, they finally called to offer me a refund. Then I got a phone message the following day saying the unit had been shipped and I would be charged £125 restocking fee. Again, I have not been able to speak to anyone to clear this up, despite daily e-mails and telephone calls.

UPDATE - I've now had two different people promise a refund, but there's no sign of it.

They are obviously very badly managed, and I wouldn't be surprised if the firm failed (Techtronics European is late in filing its accounts with Companies House). I only hope to get my money back before they do. I would not recommend Techtronics to anyone - it's simply not worth the risk.

    I also bought a Sony DAVS800 from Techtronics and found the service and the quality of the goods to be excellent. I would have no worries about using them again
