“I had my dog meg insured with direct line for over 13...”

I had my dog meg insured with direct line for over 13 years and only claimed 3 times for minor complaints,when i was away megs had to have a knee operation to have it wired due to a shallow socket which my son paid for as he could not get access to the policy so he did not claim that was her right leg,5 years later she started to limp on her left leg and also she had a wart that was bleeding,the wart was removed and I received the claim for the removal of the wart,They said that the limp to her leg was ongoing and would not pay me out albeit it was the other leg!!Sadly meg passed away on the 22/2//2011 with Liver cancer I telephoned them up and told them to Cancel Megs policy and explain to them that meg was diagnosed with the condition ,tested and passed away within 3 days they said I could not claim and the standing order was due the 4th march and that they do not refund the premium Meg would be insured up to the 4th March, I was so disgusted I cancelled my other dogs policy who has been with them for 9 years and have only thank god claimed once in all that time.I think direct line are un sympathetic,money grabbing,heartless company and treat your beloved pets like they are a 4x4 Do not insure your pets with these people
