I bought a pair of Trekmates Cairngorm Gore Tex Gaiters. They fitted well but after wearing them about a dozen times the buckle for the underfoot strap broke. They are now useless.



Thankfully they didn't break when I was at the top of a mountain where being surefooted keeps you from plunging to your death. Tripping on the loose strap could well have had some nasty consequences.



Steer clear unless you have plenty of cash to spend on new gaiters every couple of months and don't mind the additional excitement of not knowing whether your gaiters will kill you.
