“Unreliable and constantly needs attention. Only done...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 24/02/2011

Unreliable and constantly needs attention. Only done 85,000 and has been services every 5-6000 miles. ABS and Traction control lights on permently dispite having sensors replaced that were showing up as faults, brakes just don't work until it realises that there is problem. When the traction control is needed i.e. Snow it is such a budget, rubbish system that it would be better not to have it. Traction control grinds on all pumas when engaged and when ABS kicks in it changes the feel of the pedal as though its metal on metal. Bits falling off it constantly - parcel shelf, exhaust heat shield, upholstery. Don't bother opening the boot when raining as everything in there will get soaked. Now is running flat and using stupid amounts of petrol and ECU is showing up no fault code which means it could be any of a wide range of problems. For same money you could have an earlier celica which is better in every way - handling etc and feels better quality.
