Whilst the clamp is slightly awkward to fit, if fitted correctly it is very secure. I have tried prying the clamp off when installed, and if there is any movement it is not poor design on the clamps behalf, but poor installation. I have used the clamp on different size wheels and have found no problem. I do use the clamp a lot and have found it quite easy to fit now, but reiterating my first point, initially a bit awkward.
