Lanaluciano's review of Jane Norman

★★★★★

Jane Norman is a popular clothing store aimed at women...”

Jane Norman is a popular clothing store aimed at women aged 18-25. What I love about Jane Norman is the presentation of the store, they always fit outfits together very well, and I usually end up buying the bag that was temptingly placed next to the dress it matches so well.

The clothes always have that va-va voom about them, they play up to the eyes very well with colour and cut. People often claim that the sizes 'come up small', but I disagree. Not all women can get away with Jane Norman, their clothes are lovely and glamourous and very well fitting if you have a naturally slim physique. I am a size 10 and have never bought a bigger size in Jane Norman, as their clothes are supposed to be tight and compliment the younger, slimmer woman. I feel that their target market is 18-25 FOR A REASON - if you are any older than that, they will not flatter you, and you will look like an old trollop, unless you take extreme care of your appearance. As I said, Jane Norman is for the glamourous women who like to openly celebrate their femininity. You can't wear Jane Norman and have terrible nails, unclean hair and a bare face, it simply does not fit with the look.

I have always had a pleasant experience whenever I visit my local branch which is located within a Debenhams store. I usually end up buying more than I intended as the staff are extremely helpful, complimentary without any unnecessary flattery, polite and well mannered. The salesgirl was chatting and laughing with me throughout the transaction and I have noticed I always leave with a smile on my face! The carrier bags are also another bonus of shopping at Jane Norman, the colours vary from purple, blue, yellow and pink. Whenever I shop there, the staff fold my purchases beautifully and ask whether I would like them wrapped in their tissue paper.

I do not work for Jane Norman, I actually live in Canada and visit the UK a few times a year. I did however work in retail operations for seven years for another company so I understand how retail works.

I found several of the comments in this review extremely insulting. The clothes may be 'aimed' at an age range of 18-25 but I have bought several items in there (and I am the grand 'old' age of 36). For the record I do not look like an old 'trollop'!!!

Hi There,

I agree and disagree with your review. firstly I agree that Jane Norman's clothing is excellent and they have a very nice range, I go in there quite a lot as I have a few Jane Norman outfits. However I do disagree with what you said about the age range 18-25, I myself am 34 years old and I CERTAINLY DON'T look like a trollop in my Jane Norman outfits and I'm a size 16 as well, I look stunning in all my outfits so you don't have to be a skinny size 10 and wear make up etc to look good in Jane Norman clothing.
