LHR-MAD-OVD (and return) 23-27 Jan 2011 This trip was only our second on Iberia. The first was about 4 years ago, and not memorable - just another trip. This time, my wife broke her ankle the day after I bought the tickets. I phoned Iberia to explain that she would have one leg in a cast and able to walk short distances on crutches. They arranged aisle seats for all four segments, priority boarding, and wheelchairs in London, Madrid and Orviedo. Our frequent flyer status (with another oneworld airline) allows us lounge access, so wheelchairs on the outward trip meant travel via the Iberia clubs (not enough time to visit the Madrid VIP Club on the return trip). It is hard to imagine how Iberia could have treated us better, and we are most grateful. The plane interiors looked nearly new, the seats were comfortable and the legroom was very good on the LHR-MAD-LHR flights and adequate on the MAD-OVD-MAD flights. The only disappointment was thoughtless passengers, such as the oaf who jumped to his feet as soon as we landed at Madrid, before the seat belts sign went off, and managed to kick my wife on her broken ankle. But things like that weren't Iberia's fault - both ground staff and cabin crew were unfailingly helpful and courteous.
