At first I was reluctanct to purchase The Edge of Midnight by Beverly Jenkins after reading the back cover. I have read all her books and was looking for another love story amongst blacks during slavery. I purchase the book but did not read the book until 3 weeks of having it. I admit I put it down several times but not because it was not good but because I was being bias. I prefer the books from the 1800 era not a book of current era. But once I put my biasness aside I could not stop reading the book. The best part was she did bring in the past by bringing together two family linages the Vachon's and the Grayson's. Outstanding !!!!!!! I look forward to more books from the past and present if she continues to incorporate characters from all the other wonderful books she has written. And the saga continues with who I do not know but I am eagerly awaiting the next book. It would be nice to read something on the Grayson's twins one of them was a real fire cracker or a book of one of the offsprings from Ryder Damien or Jackson Black.
Surprise Us.

Like this reviewer, I too have read all of Ms. Jenkins books and was a bit taken back by the contemporary romantic suspense genre of this book. Ms. Jenkins is an excellent writer, however, and I don't know why I ever doubted her. Although I did have a few small problems with the book, overall it was excellent. I loved the fact that she made a connection to her earlier books and look forward to more of the same. Mykal has two brothers - hopefully Ms. Jenkins will give us their stories!
