Great fit and finish
Clean exterior styling
Great power/displacement ratio
Cup holders suck
Understeer with factory ride hight and tires
Factory clutch no good
The 1999 Honda Civic SIR is the best looking Civic ever. It is very easy to get 20-30 more horsepower and just as easy to make it handle like it's glued to the road. For more horsepower use AEM cold air intake (old or new V2 are about the same). I used DC 4-2-1 headers and high flow cat with Greddy evo exhaust and it is a great set-up. I added a lightweight Unorthadox flywheel and A.C.T. clutch and now the acceleration is insane. I put in Skunk 2 stage 1 cams, valves, springs, titanium retainers, and I must have picked up about 16 horsepower at the wheels. It is really fast now and sounds really mean under full throttle and decent at cruising speeds. Lowered 1 1/4" all around with coil overs and put 17 inch spoon mags with Yoko Parada 2's. Bushings swaybars and strut towers upgraded with Spoon units. Now understeer is gone and car handles like a go-cart. Good ride with coil-overs.
I have the fastest N/A civic in town. (Legal 1/4 mile racing at the sanctioned track). Now I am ready for Sparco seats and turbo.
Good luck on all of your projects.
