Good Points
Bought my cav gsi 2lt 4x4 16v from a guy as p/x for a mondeo!! Best swap in the world. Its got the looks and the feeling of performance!!!!
Bad Points
Cant find any bad point except if you are driving round town fuel aint that cool!!!!!
General Comments
The Vauxhall Cavalier GSi is the first real performance car that iv had but it wipes the floor with most things on the road. With a twin scorpian exaust on the back you can cruise down any main road and people will stop and stare, wondering just what you are driving! Mine is a basic setup at the moment but am gonna make her a car that the rs turbo drivers (and all the overs!!!) dribble over! Any ideas would be appreciated!

I imagine its already as quick (if not quicker) than RS Turbos, but here goes.

Although they are expensive (£250) pipercross viper induction kits are supposed to work well as they are enclosed and dont draw in the heat (which is a problem on the XE engined cavs). Then a set of better plugs and leads (splitfire work well) and maybe then a superchip, with the added camshafts or even a new gas flowed head (big power!)

Anyway it can get expensive but it'll be worth it. My dad had an sri, with most of that stuff on, and although not as quick as the GSi it flew!.

Good luck with the car

very nice car indeed, I bought one 3 months ago for a mere £900 the kit with it was worth that.
its the gsi 2000 not 4x4 as yours is after reading about the 2 cars I would go for the 2x4 because its:
a.quiker
b.better on fuel
c.cheaper insurance

Its the 4x4 varient and the guy that had it swapped it with me for my p reg mondeo (quite grudgingly i may add!!) so i would say about £1000. Its dark grey metalic (think the colour is called starmist and its got a lot of service history and pers plate MIL 4525. email at [email protected] if still interested?
