★★★☆☆

“The big bore 909 44cal. is not the most powerful...”

Good Points
ACCURACY,TRIGGER

Bad Points
I dont like the look on this rifle. Its feels too heavy and you get less shots.

General Comments
The big bore 909 44cal. is not the most powerful airgun in the world, that was a lie. I have an airgun much more powerful than the 909.

How about the 909x gun!! The one that pellet man does the custom work on{Tom Basile} he has the sam yang 909 turned up to 900fps dubbed the 909x gun with 454cal round balls. The Quackenbush 50 cal bandit is around 800fps with round balls, so power looks to be close but the flater shooting longer range will be with the sam yang 909x gun due to its higher velocity. Also Tom has other chomaly barrels for this gun fast twist available in 308,22,20, making this gun very flexible an very high in velocity when fitted with a low caliber 22 or 20 barrel not to mention cheaper to shoot and it takes 5 minutes to change barrels !!! so of coures I ordered one an it will be here next week so I will post more after it arrives, Tom'S warranty is for as long as you own your gun if somthing goes wrong with it, he will fix it. Hard to beat that! And he tests them to see how accurate they are before he sends them out, and also chronographes them and send you the results of the test TO COOL

The most powerful airguns in the world can be found at Barnes Pneumatic (http://www.barnespneumatic.com/index2.html), and are created by Gary L. Barnes. His Yukon 58 produces about 650 foot pounds of force (compared to about 200 from the Sam Yang, or 250 from the Quackenbush .50 Bandit). Of course, power always comes at a price, and while both the Sam Yang and the Bandit can be had relatively inexpensively, the Barnes guns cannot. The Yukon 58, for example, runs in the $5000 range - not for the weak of heart or wallet.

Ok I’ve been shooting this sam yang 909x gun with the pellet man mods. It smashes straight through 2 by 12 at 50 yards. I set up 3 =3/8 plywood with space between them a 2 by 12 to back it all up. AT 50 YARDS IT SMASHED THROUGH ALL THREE 3/8 plywood sheets an then almost all the way through the 2 by 12!! I loaded the gun at 2800 psi and used spear 454 round balls 140 grain. Several of my friends that have large air gun collections have shot this my 909x pellet man mod gun an the results were three more guys just had to have it an all bought one!! I must say you have to have some respect for this gun as if it were a fire arm due to its power.
