I ordered this Panasonic GD87 mobile phone on pre-release as it appeared to be a decent handset. But, over the last 12 months have had nothing but trouble with it. It switches itself on and off constantly for no reason. Always takes ages to call people and sometimes it will take ages saying its calling but then won't be able to connect to them at all. When people ring you it switches itself on and off. When you send and receive messages it switches itself on and off. This is a very annoying phone and extremely unreliable. I would advise anyone not to buy it. I had about 5 replacements from Orange and have had the same problems with every handset. Orange made me believe i was the only person with issues, but after reading reviews looks like the handset is generally poor.
The phone is always poor reception and very unclear for voice calls.

My wife and I have the same phone. Same problems, switches off, not connecting calls. Orange doesn't care about their customers, I even stood in an Ornage shop talking to orange and all we got was "Not their problem", they would exchange the phones on Insurance but could not guarantee the problems would disappear, even though there was problems with the phone. We will never buy another phone from Orange as far as I am concerned.

It's not just Orang. I released mine from Orange a year ago and went to Virgin. I have 2 of these phones as well and both have started blacking out at random and beleive this when I spoke with Panasonic they were not aware of any fault like this being reported BUNCH OF LIEING TERDS they got our money and not give a monkeys. I suggest contact with WATCHDOG as this clearly is a FAULTY product.
