I too, am totally shocked by the negative reviews for Petplan. I have nothing but praise for the company. My dog has needed surgery on both his back legs for cruciate ligament problems. One was done one year, the next the following year both at a cost of £2500. I do not have that kind of money in my account but upon hearing that I was with Petplan the specialist excepted payment straight from the insurers post operatively. The payment was prompt and with no fuss whatsoever.

My dog also has a prescription for arthritis which costs £100 per month which Petplan covers.

Over the past two years our premiums have totaled £500 yet they they still continue to pay without any problems at all. The premiums have risen by a small amount each year, (last year it was an increase of two pounds) as you would expect from any insurer despite the fact of his ongoing condition. If I could I would give them a 6!
