“We sent our GSD to learn things that we found just too...”

We sent our GSD to learn things that we found just too difficult to teach. When we picked him up 3 weeks latter we found that his spirit had been broken and he had lost 3 kgs in weight. We think, but we have no way of knowing, that starvation was the only way they could train him as he is not interested in toys, praise or food (unless he is very hungry). Possibly they starved him so that he would respond to treats. We would never try and train our dog in this manner, even though to a certain degree it was successful. Never again!

As Managing Director of Royvon, I feel that a response is required to this review. We have not received a complaint so the only information I have is what's written in the review. I welcome the owner to contact me direct and I will investigate further and provide any information that we already have or obtain in investigation. It is of great concern that one of our clients feel this way and I welcome any opportunity to discuss further. On occasion dogs do lose weight whilst in this environment as they can pine for their owners, however this would be noticed and procedure's come into place to help resolve. We weigh such dogs and breeds daily or every couple of days prone to loosing weight in a kennel environment in order to monitor them and also discuss with their owners to develop a suitable plan of action to help correct the problem. Starvation is not a method of training we use. We do motivate using some treats however physical and verbal praise is our main reinforcement. In particular we find that GSD's respond much better to verbal and physical praise from their handler as they are generally very keen to please. We specialise in this breed as we have bred German Shepherds solely for over 40 years, the Co-founder of Royvon Mrs. Yvonne James judged German shepherds at Crufts and bred many international champions.

This has also happened to my dog and I am researching royvon . I have read a few more such reviews with one dog dying due to being in a car . Royvon were investigated and fined by the RSPCA but this does not bring a dog back or indeed help with the guilt the owner feel for putting their dog through such an ordeal. I also got the sort of response that this person got
