Oh what a disappointment.
I was involved in the surveys which were done with regard to the come-back of the Black Magic Classic chocolates. While a lot of time was wasted questioning us on packaging and box appearance I really thought that sense would prevail and the old-style packaging and - more importantly - the old-style chocolates would make a reappearance.
How wrong could I be!
I'm sitting here puzzling as to what's worse - the new-style sickly mush which apparently is all the rage, or this box of a meagre 6 variations - 33% of which I can't eat as they are nutty! I only wish I'd turned the box upside-down before buying to see this was nothing more than lip service to the chocolates we all hold dear in our memories.
These are NOT by any stretch of the imagination DARK chocolate. They don't look dark and they don't taste dark.
First impressions on opening the box was of a jumble sale. The box ought to have more than one layer and be smaller. Instead, all these silly designs jump out at you and half the chocolates had rolled over so I spent the first 5 mins turning them all around. It didn't get any better.
The flavours are poor and the chocolates seem small.
MUCH more variety is needed - there is nothing enticing about seeing masses of chocolates which all look the same - mainly because they ARE all the same! There are only 6 varieties in all.
I am utterly utterly disappointed now and the only saving grace is that I didn't bother buying some for my mum as the last time I did, she wasn't best pleased when she had a box full of Black Magic which were neither magical nor what she was used to.
Nestle - stick to evaporated milk, it's what you do best. These are a DISGRACE!
