Good Points

Superb picture quality; ease of use out of the box; 5 megapixels; wonderful focus system; brilliant Carl Zeiss Vario Sonar lens; night shot capacity. An ideal tool for a desk top publisher. Hard to convince friends that the output is digital!!!

Bad Points

None..apart from the reaction when first sighted...I thought it was a joke! In the hand all amusement was removed and fascination took over. A sync cord socket for studio use would be a real bonus...

General Comments

I bought the Sony DCS-F707 as a replacement for a Ricoh 5000 series digital camera - which has proven to be impressive. The Sony produces simply superb prints when outputted to the latest print technology. Incredible depth of field and clarity not matched by my Nikon F5 or Contax RTS unless colour corrected and home printed - and only just. My local printer is about to be convinced that digital product can match or improve on halide! A very powerful tool used with Adobe Photoshop and QuarkXpress.

Brilliant review - spot on comments about a really wonderful piece of kit. The reviewer really know his stuff and makes a clear statement that digital has really arrived in a comsumer format. I've gone and bought one on the strength of his recommendation! We need more reviews from people who work in the industry. Wow! and this guy works a world away in Tasmania...full of wonderful Irish people apparently. Cheers and thanks Cally.
