General Comments

The Nikon Coolpix 885 digital camera was my first step into digital photography a couple of months ago and i have now travelled across Europe and Far East with this camera and filled 128MB memory cards over and over again with great quality shots from landscapes, action shots, artistic shots, portraits etc etc

If you venture beyond the fully automatic point and click setting, the functionality of the camera can be a little bewildering at first, but you pick up on the easy to use menus very quickly - especially the 12 scene selectors that help you get the best out of the camera in different environments from beach - to portrait - to museum - to night shots

The camera is really light but feels solid - great to hold with the ergonomically designed grip to ensure the camera holds steady (especially compared to the sexy looking but gimmicky "credit card" digital cameras available)

3M pixels and 3x zoom (4x digital) deliver fantastically crisp shots with great colour and contrast

I'm still learning to use but have more than got my value for money already... especially considering the discounts i have seen you can get on this model on the UK high street (RRP around £500 but currently retailing for around £380-400 and i have seen for £350 on the net)

Next step for me is buying the coolpix lens accessories you can get (don't forget to buy the correct converter ring!) and trying to resolve the intermittent problems i've had transferring data to a PC running Microsoft XP
