It should be possible to run most incompatible devices or programs in 'compatible' mode with Windows XP.
Highlight the program or device from the "Programs" list, and click on it with your right mouse-button. From the next pull-down menu, click on "Properties". Then select the "Compatability" tab. Select which earlier Windows operating system that you want to run the program or device. Thereafter, the program or device will be run in a mode compatible with the program or device.
This is designed specifically to run older printers and scanners, or earlier versions of software (eg. early versions of CorelDraw, scanning programs, etc.)
