After a long and thorough research on riding schools I figured that you cant really tell who s worth and whos not. And that is because it has a lot to do with the intructor/student chemistry. so I decided to spend a bit more and go with Metropolis simply because they have many instructors and the location (Vauxhall) was convinient.

everyone there was professional. No doubt about that. Everyone knew what they were talking about and were really friendly and cool. I think this helps a lot.

A bit about me first..

I took my CBT with Elite in Wembley. The guy (I wont mention his name) was useless. He didnt even tell me that I have to slip the clutch fro slow riding. Also my intructor in Greece didnt tell me either ( i took 4 lessons of 1.5 hour cause it was cheaper then in the UK..) Both told me use the clutch.. But when you drive cars all your life, you understand that you have to release the clutch geltly and there is no way to guess that motorcycle clutches are made to be slipped constantly!!!

Anyway, the result of that was me being extremely unconfident and almost scared.. I was thinking that it was waaay more difficult then it actually was.

First day with Mark (the tall guy) I was lucky enough to get a one to one course.. The guy picked up the problem instantly. And instantly he fixed it too!!! All I can say is that within literally 5 minutes I was riding the CG125 around the parking lot as if I ve been riding all my life..

After lunch he got me on the XJ6.. And no parking lot this time.. straight out on the road.. I think Dave is great for first timers. Some might thoink he shouts a bit.. but he kept me alert. And first time on a 600 you better be.. 2 days with Dave And I could handle the XJ6 like a bicyle.

I did a days training with Mark too, who is the opposite from Dave.. reaaaaly cool.. At first I thought there was a problem with my earpiece! ha hahonestly.. the guy just talks when its necessary!! ha ha I d recommend Mark if you already have done 1-2 days riding with Dave (the tall guy I never met the other Dave) or if you are a bit touchy.. he he

My third attempt on part 1 was with Ted. This guy is something between the other two.. cool but he talks,, ha ha.. he really calmed me down and finally on the 3rd attmpt I managed to show them what I could do.. Clean sheet ladies & gentlemen.. he he..

The part 2 was really easy for me. After riding to Erith with Mark, I got it first time with 3 minors.. (I thought I had failed cause I got lost twice, but hey.. you dont fail for that!!)

all in all Metropolis were great. The girls at the reception very helpfull, the guys at the accesories store very very helpfull and more honest then a salesperson should be.. if you know what I mean..

I ll go back to Metropolis for my advanced training. And whenever I'll be around I ll go by to say hi..

Now I need to say something. I m a driving instructor myself. And I can understand a few things more then people who are not. When you see that your instructor is not suitable for you, change him. Its not something to be embarassed. I value the guys & girls at Metropolis based on the information and teaching approach they have. Not the character. everyone is different and bad chemistry is not to be judged. If you dont like your instructor, change him! Thats why I think you should go for a school with more then 2 or 3 instructors. the more the better.. Ideally go there, and see the school your self before you reach for your wallet. Talk with the people and ask questions even if you already know the answers. Talk and see how you feel about it. Whether is car m/c or airplane training I think this is the way to go.

conclusion.

For me, they were worth every penny. I reaaly think that everyone who works there is A class. and it is for them why I write the first online review in my life!! he he
