“Now, like a lot of women, i've tried out my fair share...”

Now, like a lot of women, i've tried out my fair share of foundations. From powders, to liquids, to mousses, i used to find that nothing worked for my skintone, which can only be described as combination. I am also excessively pale, and i found that a lot of foundations turned yellowish on my skin.

I used to dislike going up to make up counters to get matched up to a proper foundation. The overly made up women behind the counters would often make me feel self conscious for wearing the wrong shade of foundation, or on the day when i had time to go to a make up counter, a huge spot would break out in the middle of my face.

However, i swallowed my pride one morning and made my way towards the max factor counter in boots. After much consideration, the lady behind the counter picked out a colour adapt foundation, in the colour creamy ivory. The foundation comes in a small plastic bottle with a pump, which means that you waste less of the product (as anyone who has ever used the Revlon Colorstay foundation will testify, it's annoying when you accidently pour too much). This foundation has a light, mousse like texture, and it blends well. It feels moist on my skin, which is good for me as i have dry skin in places, however for those with oily skin i would probably stay away, as i could imagine it feeling quite greasy on oily skin.

It is of medium coverage, but i think it looks natural on skin, because it blends so well into your natural skin tone. On average this foundation costs around £12, and it lasts me around four months, and i wear it everyday. To those who would complain about the price, you really do get what you pay for. I really do like this foundation, and it suits my combination skin perfectly (i have oily skin around my nose, but i find if i set my foundation with powder afterwards, it stays fine). Also, it does not oxidise my skin and turn me an unnatural colour.

The only criticism i would have of this foundation is minor, the packaging. It feels a bit middle aged old lady to me. Im not really sure if max factor intend to market their products to an older audience, and if they do it's a shame because i feel this foundation is suitable for young women and older women alike. Also as i said, if you have oily skin all over, then perhaps this foundation may feel heavy on your skin.
