Air Asia has an unethical advertising policy where discounted or @free@ seats are offered online, however, when a seat is reserved the quoted price to be paid is the standard price. There is no SOLD OUT banner to prevent confusion. Their phone service can only be described as utterly pathetic and frustrating. Don't even try to use it, you will need a psychologist afterwards. I changed my travel date and had to cough up a whopping 1800 baht - which made the final ticket price way above other airlines. Air Asia is a budget airline - they respect their own budget, not yours. I seriously consider a Facebook group called Air Asia Sucks.
