I was mis-informed when booking flight to cancun as to the size of aircraft. i asked as i'm 6'5", was told direct flight from calgary was their largest 737-800 with 34" pitch and 18 1/2" seats, oops wrong it was mid size 737-700 with 31" pitch and 17" wide seats, on the return flight it was their smallest 737-600 with less pitch again. on the flight south my knees were jammed against the seat in front making it impossible for that seat to recline. on the return flight i couldn't even get my knees against the seat in front, and my wife at 5'4" had to ask the person in front of her to put her seat up a bit as it hit her knees when reclined. i know westjet says all their seats are first class but the only resemblance is they are leather and have ajustable headrests. if they had been honest with me at time of booking i would have flown with another carrier and paid more for business class. poor marketing, and on the these flights to cancun the service down was very good, but on the return it lacked a bit, only because it was the same flight crew down and back so they were pretty tired already and had another 5 1/2 hour flight to tend with, our hearts went out to them. so maybe its time for west jet to review their seat configuration and put the 10 or 12 business class seats back in their longer flights and charge accordingly for those of us who don't mind the extra charge for comfort. same on you westjet booking agents.

Story doesn't ring true. Seat width is the same on all of their aircraft, 17". Seat pitch is 34" on the 800 but it is 32" on both the 600 and 700. Don't see hw you would have a harder time on the 600 versus the 700.
I'm 6' and never had to ask the person in front of me to not recline their seat, find it had t believe someone 8" shorter had that problem.

Yeah i checked seatguru too and found the same deal. Size of plane has nothing to do with how tight they pack the seats together.
And I am sure WJ told you they have first class seats...lol
