I read in the Sunday Times, 24 Oct 2010 that, if Nationwide do not wish to process a mortgage they appear to have instructed their surveyor to value a property at £1.
A customer owing them money but now in financial difficulty cannot get acceptance for £1 on repayment token offer for 6 months while they sort their situation.
A phone call gets a similar rejection and a call back at 6pm! Assuming I am still in the office - a debt adviser. The supervisor refused to talk when I called from my office.
Then, in a twist of the truth, their client is told I could not be contacted but with no details! I am mopre than willing to be contacted - if I am there. As with many free to client services, I work part time and certainly not beyond 6pm.
Nationwide appear not to reply to correspondence, or complaints and offer no offical complaints procedure - how can they if they appear not to reply?
I have written many times for many customers.
They either take the case to court in Swindon, or transfer the debt to KPR who take the same stance.
This is almost unique and shows little care for customers

I found this review not helpful because... it focussed on one individual's complaint and not on general issues that might be of use to others.
