Having owned a CBF600 as a first bike after passing my test, I was in the market for a larger capacity bike with more grunt. I was booked to test ride the Triumph Daytona, CBR 600RR and a Fireblade. Having looked for a Blackbird but not able to find one, I decided that I would try out those bikes first. However, on the day of my test ride, the shop had just recieved two secondhand Blackbirds! I opted for the first ride on the Bird. I was sold on it almost as soon as I wound on the throttle! The bike was smooth, powerful and lightning quick. I'm a big bloke, 6'4" tall and 19 stone and the bike was just fantastic. On my arrival back to the shop, the owner called the bird " a poor mans private jet" he wasn't wrong. I bought the bike that day and have never looked back. Nothing I've seen can beat it on quality, speed, comfort, power and presence in a single bike, It may not be the fastest anymore, it might not match the GS for touring comfort but it does it all. I would certainly buy another, brilliant across the board.
