Ordered a dress and necklace online from Dorothy Perkins on Sunday evening to wear to a Christening the following Sunday. On Wednesday arrived home to find a delivery card saying they tried to deliver while I was out and gave me a name and number for the delivery driver to call to arrange re-delivery. Called and left 4 messages but no reply, so on Friday evening called customer services who found the parcel tracking said it had been delivered Thursday afternoon, while I was at work. My partner tracked a mobile number down for the delivery driver using the internet and rang him. Finally able to speak to him he said he'd left the parcel with our neighbour (no note to tell us this!). Despite knocking several times she had gone away for the weekend and so I had to go out Saturday afternoon to buy a new dress. When she got back on Monday we asked for my parcel only to be told she'd left it outside our front door on Thursday. In trying to get a refund from Dorothy Perkins (who admitted they were liable) I have now rung customer services (an 0844 number) 4 or 5 times and a month later I am still waiting. I might finally have got somewhere today since the latest person I spoke to has found out the reason my refund wasn't going through is that I paid by PayPal but the other people I'd spoken to had put it through to credit card refunds!
I am thoroughly annoyed with Dorothy Perkins and their courier company Hermes and will definitely not be ordering anything from them again.
