I just got done felling and limbing half an acre of Oak Box elder and ash today using the 18'' 55cc craftsman saw. I see many people write a review when they have had bad experiences or are dissatisfied with the product. It goes the same with everything in reviews. The craftsman saw is made by MTD which also makes the Husqvarna saws. The gas tank like all modern saws is plastic made from two halves heat pressed together. This seam will tend to be a weak point if handled carelessly. The incredipull start if used properly actually makes it less work to start while holding it, the engine if broken in properly has plenty of power, and the saw uses an average amount of fuel it just has a tank capacity comparable to a 40 cc engine. so if used properly and maintained well this saw will do the same job as the more expensive stihl or husqies.

I agree, 5 plus years and still going strong. The only parts i changed were the handle (recalled item provided by Sears), and the chain. My saw workes fine. I'm just glad i got it befor they changed designs. The small bar 18 inch, 42 cc. is painful to look at and the 20 inch 50cc is over kill. Heres hoping i won't need another saw for at least another 5 years.
