“I bought a 57 plate ford focus from evan halshaw...”

Written on: 11/10/2010

I bought a 57 plate ford focus from evan halshaw lincoln about 1 1/2 years ago. when i bought the car was promised a full tank of petrol and some FORD mats, neither were given. After 2/3 phone calls i had to take the vehical in my own time to have the petrol put in which took them about 30mins to do even thought the garage is half a mile down the road. The mats i recived were cheap evan halshaw mats that didnt fit properly. After about a year me and my partner were not happy with the car as there was a grinding noise coming from the brakes and a few other things so we decided to sell it. we took the car to webuyanycar.com (lincoln). While looking through the service book the man from webuyanycar noticed a big red stamp on the service book saying WARRENTY VOID. This was not shown to us when purchusing the vehical, which cost me £500 pound of the price of wselling the car.

After wanting a new bigger car we decided on a mondeo and found one we liked at evans halshaw, being a little reluctant to buy from them again we went to look at the car and liked it and was a good price so we bought it. we were promised a full tank of deisel but was not given AGAIN, so i had to make another trip AGAIN to get the deisel were i was given the company fuel card and told to go fill it up myself as the sales man was busy. Not very professional if you ask me. 6 weeks after buying the car there was a knocking noise when turning right and the tracking was awfull so i took it back and was told it needed a new steering rack, which for a 2yr old car with 55k on the clock i thought was bad. A warning showing 'service oil' was flashing and i asked for that to be looked at also, which it wasnt and is still flashing up. I had to take the car to them for repairs in my own time and get the bus back home with my 1year old son and his car seat which was not a not a easy trip to make. The car is being collected tomorrow to be taken back in as i am still not happy with it with a list of 6 other things wrong including missing trim, wheel paint flaking off. i will report back when the repairs have been done.

in future i will never buy from evans halshaw againg and would recommend to keep your distance from these clowns
