I purchased a Barnett Panzer V last night. Have never owned a crossbow in my life and I am a novice hunter at 54, I did the same thing here that I did with golf clubs, get something functional, not top end, see if it works for me and if not I'm not out a lot of money for the experience. I am impressed with the light weight and ease of use. Although the assembly instructions and manual leave something to be desired, I was able to set it up, get it sighted in and be in a tree stand with it 6 hours after it was purchased. What really surprised me was the accuracy of the cheap red dot sight. It took 6 shots to get it zeroed at 20 yards and it stayed there. At some point in the future I may get a better crossbow with a little more power and a higher end sight but I look at it this way...This bow is stong enough to take down a white tail deer at 20 yards. Being that I hunt in the North Georgia woods, I'm probably never going to see a shot longer than that during bow season and if I do have to take one longer I will wait for rifle season to open and use my 30-06. I'm impressed with this product and would recommend it to a friend. In today's day and age, it's decent value for the money. I would guess that the reviewers that poo poo this item are experienced folks who can afford something better but tried to be cheap. Good job Barnett.
