We had the best holiday ever, great flight going. Problems arose on arrival to airport to return home on 14-10-10 8.30pm ready for our 00.15 flight We'( my 2 daughters 1 son & 3 grandchildren 2 of the aged 1 the other aged 3 & myself) There was our flight on the board ZB715 but the time said 02.15, we assumed they had got the time wrong (maybe cyprus time not uk. We went to check in only to be told our flight was the night before & they had 20 spare seats but I had to pay 3000.00 euros to get us all home. They gave me Monarchs english phone no' when I asked where was I supposed to call them from she pointed at a public phone box. (more money. I got told the same thing & that they could not help unless I paid the money, which I didn't have anyway. I spoke to 3 young men also in the same situation as me (apparently missed the same flight) So I asked them what were the names of the 20 people that didn't show up for the flight at 2.15, they wouldn't tell me so I asked if our names were in that 20 people, reply was I can not tell you due to data protection act???????? In the end we had to stay in the airport until 2.30pm the next day until my family had rallied round to get the money in my account so I could pay for the new flights. The babies had to sleep on our cases as there were no benches, just rows of chairs with arms in between each seat that could not be moved. We spent 18 hours at that airport, We were not offered any drinks, food or a room to sleep in. Thanks to Monarch I am now in debt. What should have been a lovely holiday for my family & myself turned into a nightmare. I will never fly with Monarch again nor will I recommend them to anyone, I will tell them to avoid them like the plague. Isn't it strange how all our return flights with extra leg room & meals booked cost less than our 1 new return flight home. If anyone can help me with the complaints procedure please do.
