“If there was a lower than 1 star rating i would give...”

If there was a lower than 1 star rating i would give it. We did not enjoy ourselves at all. I have been going here for a long time I used to enjoy the quality, portion size of the food as well as the surroundings. but boy have they gone DOWN HILL! The service was always poor.

I went there to celebrate my sons birthday. We were a group of 8 adults and 4 children. it was a failry busy friday eve. we finally got a table after waiting for 45 minutes despite calling and booking before hand! we were eventually seated and the table was not poperly set some place settings did not have a glass some did not have any cuttelery and some no napkins. Then when we asked for these the waiter had an attitude problem they gave us the menues and left us there not enough menues i might add. While we were looking down the menu the waiter bring us our a basket of popadoms and dips again he leaves us we had our baby duaghter with us they did not even offer us a high chair. We had to ask for one.even then our waiter just went off into a huff.

We were ready to place order but no waiter to ask us. So as one was approching our table i attepmted calling him over but he just walked past.It took his boss to call him and tell him to listen to what we had to say. Apparently they have their own allocated tables that they must serve.... our one was off in a huff. So he eventually came to take order. When we asked him for individual starters ie. Sheesh kebab, Chicken Tikka etc. He said that we could only order mixed grills and not individuals. What nonsense!!!! I asked another member of staff and they said the same. Well not everyone likes all that is in a mixed grill and often things don't get eaten as a result. Plus not to mention the fact that the mixed grill often consists of what we wanted plus more that we did not want and is usually in smaller portions. Usually its over priced but a great earner for the restaurant. So we asked what does a large mixed grill consist of and what does the medium consist of he was unable to tell us. Now that is bad one would expect the waiter to know or at least find out! Any ways we ordered a two large mixed grills and two portions of masala fish just as well they let us place this as a spate order and did not force us to buy the seafood mixed grill. Why did they give us a menu and we could only order 5 % of items from I don't know! But this was really annoying we also asked for some naan breads with the starters

Well you could guess what happend... yes the Starters came out without the naan breads that is was ordered with. This was really bad. My guests where just left to eat the starter with out the naan i had to order another mixed grill as the food was going down fast by the time the naan bread came it was not the full naan bread order most of the starter had been eaten. So we asked where the rest of the order was and they may as well bring out our curries and naan that we had ordered with our curry there was no apology from them or any thing

When we placed order for drinks apparently they were only selling juices and milk shakes by the Jug the tap water that was already on the table was not refilled also one of the glass water carafe was broken. When we pointed this out to our allocated waiter he just grabbed the bottle of my guest and just went off in a huff. This is service at its worst! Did he bother replacing it......NO

Eventually the curry came out but guess what no naan bread with it, tut tut this just down right incompetence. one can understand that the restaurant was only half full (downstairs) upstairs was vacant. They could not cope it seems why have a restaurant with so many covers if they cannot cater for them. Upstairs was not even open

After eventually eating our starter and mains the waiter did not bother clearing table. We then had to prompt the waiter to bring us the desert menu. After he cleared table on say so of his boss. His boss could see that we had been very patient.

He brought it I also asked the waiter to bring us our cake with the candles and sparkler that we supplied to them. Well they brought the cake out missing the sparklers also no knife and no small plates spoons or even napkins to serve the cake. What a load of rubbish Al faisals Resturant on Stoney Lane Birmingham are well OVER RATED. I would never go there again.

They ruined our evening and ruined my son's Birthday. No choice on menu, order was wrong service was rotten along with bad attitude of waiter portion sizes were miniscule I will never go there again. the curries did not even taste any different looks like that just prepared a base source and slapped in whatever. Shame as we have had some good times at this place in the past. NEVER AGAIN AL Faisals or indeed Royal AL faisals as they like to call them selves. is just plain old bleep bleep! NEVER AGAIN.

Royally FAILED to win us over!
