From day one when it was used this Hoover Alyx cleaner smelled as if it was overheating, if it was used for more than 5 minutes it cut out, filter clogged after first couple of minutes use and filter required washing and drying for 24 hours (pathetic). Air from the back vent was so hot you couldn't put your hand there. Took it back to Currys and asked for my money back, argument about repair/replacement/refund ensued, manager misquoted EU consumer law, I wanted a refund, not another one of these or a repair to the one I bought, machine not fit for purpose at all. Anyway they said they would send it to Hoover for an "engineer" to look at it, when I got back home Currys were on the phone saying they had talked to Hoover and were now offering me a refund. Surprised it is still on the market, there must have been quite a few go up in flames. AVOID (and avoid buying from Currys, they have their own interpretation of consumer rights legislation) Buy a VAX C90 if you're looking for a good small cleaner.
