update on review written 31st Aug .... i have now contacted the CAA and not only has my claim form not been recieved they tell me an agreement is being set up with Hays whereby they handle refunds not the CAA ..... GOD HELP US!!!!! I do not think we will see our money again. I have written a letter of complaint to Hays needless to say no reply or acknowledgment. It is impossible to get any informatoin as all i get from customer services is that the department handling claims does not take phone call from customers. Has anyone out there got any cash back yet?? My next step will be to contact Watchdog.... maybe others should do the same, they cannot be allowed to treat customers this way.

I have written to Watchdog (well emailed them)
<br/>We are in exactly the same boat as you ref our claim
<br/>One thing that i do is - i have added them as a friend on facebook - every time they post up a holiday deal - i tell the story of how poor their service is

Hays Travel is a joke. Everytime we email them we get the same copy-and-paste reply. Read on ttc website that there are still 8,000 of 17,000 refunds to process which they hope to do before Christmas! More lies I suspect. I have had no indication from them despite several attempts to contact them as to whether they have received or are processing my claim when I was told when rebooking our holiday we would receive our refund within 12 weeks! Hays claim CAA are not refunding on Hays Travel claims but when contacting the CAA they say they have arranged with Hays Travel to refund claimants. But what really makes me mad is that they sold us a the holiday in the first place just 2 days before Goldtrail went bust- which we now know was common knowledge in the travel industry. I hope the MD does have to dig to the depths of his pockets to refund us as a lesson to run a business with integrity and ethics. I hope karma bites him in the ass.

Unfortunately, the Administration Department of Hays Travel Ltd is shambolic and, by all accounts, they haven't issued ATOL receipts for their bookings with Gold Trail Holidays. From what I can gather the CAA is refusing to refund Hays Travel Ltd clients because of this mistake/error and, hence, the Company is having to fork out from its' own resources. I have heard that the MD ( John Hays )is paying from his own pocket ( how true this is I don't know ), but if it is true then the Supplier Failure Cover Insurance they charge for is quite obviously invalid.
