Quite how Confetti & Lace (Leeds) has won customer service awards I shall never know. I visited the shop twice - once to look for a wedding dress for me and once with my bridesmaids to look for dresses for them.
First of all the changing rooms are TINY and very dark and dingy. It was a real squeeze in there with me, the assitant and a dress (and I wasn't trying on anything big either!)
Secondly, my mum and Chief BM were offered a drink (champagne or tea) yet I was offered nothing (not even a glass of water!). Half way through my session I was finally offered some champagne, which I accepted, but yet it never appeared. And they do make a big deal on their website about the champagne!!!
Thirdly, the assistant made no attempt to pin/clip me in so I could gain an idea of what the dress would look like when fitted, despite the fact that they had the clips in the changing room! Also whilst I was getting into one of the dresses the manager came in to the changing room to show the assistant a sandwich that had been made for her. I just generally found all the staff to have a rather 'can't be bothered attitude' and are extremely unprofessional.
However due to the fact they had such a wide selection of BM dresses I decided (in hindsight unwisely) to revist the shop so that the girls could try on a wide selection of styles. The changing room upstairs (for the BMs) was much bigger and nicer than the bridal changing rooms! We were left to it and the assistant came to check on us every so often which we were happy about. So far we were having a much better experience.
We wittled it down to a few dresses and then spoke to the assistant as one of my BMs is trying for a baby and we wanted to see what our options were about accomodating a possible bump in the styles we liked. The assistant did try to find a solution but basically it came down to the fact that they couldn't help us, and then she had the gall to say to me (in front of my BM) that perhaps my BM should consider stepping down as a bridesmaid or put her plans on hold as this was MY big day.
I was speechless! How dare she say that! It's absolutely none of her business and certainly not her place to say that. Needless to say we got out of there quick smart! She really upset my BM and me with her thoughtless comments. As it happens we're now having them made by a family friend but other shops we visited were happy to accomodate a possible bump and had done in the past with other customers. Avoid this shop like the plague!
