Megabus www.megabus.com Review

Megabus is the smelliest service around, largely due to the fact that every time someone does a number two the smell infiltrates the entire air con system. Last time this happened everyone was eating their lunch, it was extremely embarrassing.



Oh, and they abandoned my partner in Sheffield as he was the only passenger left on the bus and the driver said it was the end of his shift and he wasn't legally allowed to drive any longer. Fine, except for the fact that my partner had booked for Leeds and had to find his own way there! Even more bizarre, the driver offered to drive him there himself in his car, but my parnter refused because this was a.) not in the rules b.) not exactly a comfortable proposition and c.) the driver drove like a madman in a bus so god knows what he'd be like in a car.



Oh, and not forgetting the time my partner's luggage (yes, the same unlucky guy) got COVERED in urine after the holdage compartment below the bus was drowned in effluence from an overflowing toilet. Apparently the stench was horrific and the driver got very angry, demanding to know who had blocked the toilet. Hilarious in hindsight but soaking a pee-smelling suitcase in the bath is not my idea of fun.



So yes, this is cheap - sometimes. In fact, it's often cheaper on National Express if you get a funfare. It smells, the toilets are always broken, you might not reach your destination, you may leave covered in effluence, and if you're really lucky you get to stare through the black holes of the Megaman sign the entire length of your journey so you can't even see out properly. This company would go down a treat in Beirut 1987.
