Good Points

Honestly at one look, it was a dream come true to see James Bond gadgets become a reality. It is so cool with the flip opened and closed. The PDA functions are pretty much what someone would go for ... email, calendar, wap and contacts. The Phone delivers crystal clear sound quality and you never feel that you are talking from a mobile. Excellent WAP interface and allows you to set up your account in just 2-3 minutes. The Email function is pretty much simple and easy to navigate about.

Bad Points

Battery could have been made to last longer ... although I am getting like 2-3 days standby now. The LCD could have been colour but I guess Ericsson will have much room to identify this in their next revisions.

General Comments

I was very impressed with the PDA/Phone. I always did believe that this was the way to go in the MIllenium. We have had many technology transitions with separate PDA's and Phone but this truly combines them together and keeps it simple and sweet. U no longer need to arrange your phone's IR in line with a Palm's IR port to get online to check your emails.

I did find that this technology is coming about with Motorola as well with the launching of the Accompli Series ... but from what I have seen, the Ericsson R380s truly delivers class and simple navigation above the rest. Its a true high end executive phone.

The package was also too hard to resist with a original handsfree, one RS 232 Cable (they did think about ppl who did not have IR based ports on their PC), a very stylish leather casing and most of all a Communication Suite for the R380s. I also believe that Ericsson has set up a dedicated WAP and WEB site for promoting the Mobile Internet technology which truly shows their committment and support in this area. U may check out mobileinternet.ericsson.com website for more details.

I must say, they have taken over from Nokia and Motorola and I only wish that Ericsson keeps on producing these types of PDA/Phone in the coming future with GPRS and 3G around the corner. Now with a pact agreement with Microsoft, I am pretty confident that Ericsson will be able to deliver goods which are not just of quality but also with a lot of credibility. THANK YOU ERICSSON !
