PHILIPS BDP 3100 Review

after selling my playstation 3 slim as i dont really play games anymore just watch blu ray .i needed a blu ray player that was around the £100 mark to watch my blu-ray films .i notice argos was doing the updated version off philps bdp 3100 and since there was no other reviews around at the time .i brought it .first off there is no hdmi cable inc the player is wide longways and short the other way .theres power/play/stop/eject buttons only ..two usb scockets .one on back is for internet which you need at lease 1 gig usb drive .for extra content .one on front to play divx avi mp3 flies .also before you start to use this player you need to check what firmware is on in the settings .once you found this out head to philips support web site download the lastest firmware mine is 1.30 avatar film enable at time off writing..use a blank usb drive place file on drive and insert into front usb socket ..update takes less then 10 secs yes that fast ..now to say this is a great player that goes lovely on my 50" samsung plasma .it blew me away how better then my ps3 this is . the picture was great at 1080i and 1080p the sound was the best very very crystal clear ..the remote is small but works very well ..theres no eject button so to eject the tray hold down stop button ..playing dvds was great all upscaled brill sound was a bit low but good ..avi files on usb drive worked fast at loading so did all discs ..a very must have player and cheap at £100 highly recommend to anyone
