Very accurate and fast autofocus. Bright viewfinder. many professional functions. Very compact and light, but not at all clumsy to hold in your hands. Very pleased with the results of the lens. Sharp and well coloured. Good contrast and still quite light-sensitive for a zoomlens.
Might be a bit heavier. Spot AF button is hard to reach with a big thumb. Spot light button fortunately is not. A little bit distortion in the 28 mm.
As a student i did not have much to spend on this Minolta Dynax 5 35mm SLR camera. But still i like to take pictures for hobby, so i would very much like all the manual functions i used to have on my Ricoh Kr5. The functions of this camera are very diverse. from fully automatical to fully manual with "depth of sharpness -control" bracketing and a lot of custom settings. The autofocus is really impressing compared to older cameras. It is very fast and accurate even in dim light.
I bought the 28-80 (D) lens with it. And i am very pleased with the first results. They are sharp and well coloured and contrasted. Only at 28 mm there is a little bit of circular distortion in the image. Lighting is good. Also the built in flash is very good for indoor short range pictures and lights the picture egally.
I am thinking of buying a 75-300 in addition and i am seriously thinking of the new 75-300 (D) lens, maybe someone has suggestions.
