Good Points
Excellent picture quality, and excellent value for the money.
Bad Points
The flash is too close to the lense, which requires the use of red-eye reduction.
General Comments
I've had the Minolta Dimage S404 digital camera for less than a week now, and am very pleased with it. It will be replacing my Minolta Maxxum 7000i.

Have had the camera for a couple of months (my first digital) and am enjoying it immensely.
Price does not include rechargeable battery or mains adapter. Bought the official mains adapter, but use Uniross ultra fast charger (2 hours).
Pictures are good quality, I use high res 2272x1704 setting mostly as in proportion to PC screen for wallpaper. Does excellent macro shots. Works best with good light, can hunt for focus at low light levels.
Pictures stored as jpgs and can be downloaded to Windows 2000 Pc without any software, but colour quality better after going through supplied colour correction software.
