Those who think that the OU is not as good as the so-called red brick universities are very ignorant. I have studied with both. I achieved a 2:1 honours degree in a red-brick university, and did very little work. One only really needs to put in a little work in the third year. I have done two degrees with the OU and secured two first class honours degrees. The OU is far superior. I did work much harder with the OU. Let's face it, most degrees taken in a conventional university could be completed in two years. The whole university culture is booze orientated. Many leaving with a good honours degree would not have the ability to study with the OU because they lack the discipline required.
