In May we booked a ticket with Air Berlin. The payment was accepted and everything looked good. Then Air Berlin wrote saying that there had been a glitch in their system and that our payment details hadn't been recorded properly. We gave them the details again and was told, over the phone, that now everything looked OK. A month later we received an email saying thatif we didn't pay, our ticket would be cancelled. We called again and got a rude customer service rep. who hung up on us. Since the email also said that the ticket would be cancelled automatically, and our credit card still hadn't been charged, we decided to buy a new ticket and forget about the old one. Now Air Berlin is taking us to court for not having paid that first ticket... Amazing, but true. Watch out for this company. They are highly incompetent and you could very well end up paying the price for that.
