The Vauxhall stigma, totally unjustified, the new crop of Vauxhalls are vastly superior to their forefathers

General Comments

The Vauxhall Zafira 1.8 Comfort SE is an excellent, practical family car. So versatile. So what if it doesn't look as chic as a Scenic, they ain't got 7 seats !!. A massive boot in 5 seat mode, loads of leg, shoulder and headroom in all seats, Can't ask for more. The SE has AC, ABS, TC, CD, full electrics, dual airbags, alloys, front fogs, metallic paint.

    Totally agree i've got the same 1.8 comfort se,top car only problem is last year no one had one now everyones got one!

    These models just keep getting better. Now March 2003 and new models are wiping the floor with the competition. This review is still pertinent today.

    20K mile update.

    Let me see, what's gone wrong. Interior light bulb blown, I reckon that's it. Only other problem and not the car's fault is water in the fuel, engine fault management kicked in and applied traction control to limit power till fixed, Shell paid to have tank drained !!..
    To re-iterate, absolutely superb, this car is the 'swiss army knife' of practicality. Take this sunday, 6 up, dropped four off en route, convert to 2 seat mode, went to pick up a dining table and four chairs, quick trip to the tip, mad dash shopping trip, 64 litres of bottled water !!, pick up our 2 dogs for a walk in the country, pick up 2 passengers, all within a couple of hours and no pain or swapping seats's.

    Try doing that with an Espace or Galaxy !

    I have had a 1.8 Comfort Zafira since March 2001 - 26,000 + miles and it has not missed a beat. An amazing car with stunning flexibility - will I buy another - definitely!

    The scenic now has a 7 seater as does VW with the Touran, that has a reputation for not being up to the VW brand. I have a Zafira for a couple of months and noticed two main differences from the previous VW golf we bought. No problems at all, so still great reliability. Dealer network - a lot less professional than VW, they really avoid to honour warranties on cars that people bought on other dealerships. Design - some annoying gaps between seats and "boot" cover, screen wipers are short.
